Senior Officer: Group Operational and Emerging Risk

Hellenic Bank Public Company Ltd, is seeking to recruit a Senior Officer to join the team of Group Operational and Emerging Risk.



Candidate Profile:

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree and Post–Graduate Qualification in Risk Management, Banking, Finance or related fields at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in the Consulting or Banking sector
  • Knowledge of relevant Regulatory and other related industry bodies’, Frameworks/Guidelines/Principles
  • Excellent communication  skills (both verbal and written) in English and Greek;
  • Proficient use of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills and proven team player.
  • Able to analyze facts data and information in order to identify objectives and set priorities.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, stress resistant with the highest degree of personal integrity and professionalism



Additional Qualifications will be considered an advantage:

  • Professional Certification in Risk Management (ideally in Operational Risk)
  • Project Management experience in small to medium projects



Key responsibilities of the successful candidate;

  • Reviewing and updating of Operational Risk Management Framework and related Policies & Procedures;
  • Responsible for regulatory and other internal operational risk reporting requirements (Monthly analysis and reporting)
  • Stay informed of local regulatory requirements and address compliance issues
  • Provision of opinions/suggestions to Bank’s Units/functions for improving operational risk management
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with business units by providing support, guidance and direction in relation to operational risk management
  • Lead/participate in  RCSA program
  • Develop and monitor action plans in relation to incident reported, to ensure that appropriate actions are implemented to mitigate further losses/events
  • Setting, monitor, maintain and enhance the key indicator (KRI) program such as:
    • Monthly data collection for existing KRIs,
    • Monitoring KRIs against established benchmarks,
    • Defining and developing new KRIs as required,
    • Linking KRIs to RCSA,
  • Manage operational loss data process for the subsidiary such as:
  • Implement a data collection and reporting process,
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy and comprehensiveness of loss data,
  • Analyze significant operational losses in collaboration with business to identify and address the underlying causes,
  • Produce timely, accurate and meaningful operational risk reports in line with agreed timetables and formats
  • Ensure that the operational risk impact of new services, new product, systems and processes for the subsidiary are assessed and understood prior to their launch / implementation (ensure that the respective RCSA are appropriately updated.)
  • Conduct training/awareness to promote operational risk management in the subsidiary.
  • Identification, assessment & management of operational risks through events management, workshops, on-site visits and various project assignments
