What is a fixed deposit account?
A fixed deposit is an account in which you save your money for an agreed period of time, during which time you can neither deposit nor withdraw money from it. The interest rate is fixed for the entire duration of the fixed term.
What is the minimum deposit amount?

The minimum deposit amount for a fixed deposit varies depending on the duration of the deposit. For 3-, 6- and 12-month deposits, the minimum amount is €1.000 while for 18month fixed deposits, the minimum amount is €20.000.

How can I open a fixed deposit?
You can easily open a “Net Fixed” deposit account via Online Banking or visit any of our branches.
Can I add a beneficiary to my existing account?
In this case, you may request to open a new joint account by booking an appointment at any Hellenic Bank branch. 
What is required for the opening of a fixed deposit?
To open a fixed deposit, you must submit the necessary documents for the confirmation of the below information

-Identity information
-Income information
-Contact information
-Professional activity details

For existing customers, an updated version of the above must be submitted

What is the deposit rate of the account?
For the interest rate of fixed deposit accounts please contact any Hellenic Bank branch. Interest rates vary depending on the maturity period of your fixed deposit.
What are the types of charges that I need to be aware of?
Fixed deposits are not charged maintenance fees. You will only be charged in cases of cash withdrawals prior to the maturity of the deposit and as stated in the table of commissions and charges of Hellenic Bank.

How is the interest calculated?
The interest is calculated based on the deposit rate of the account as follows: (deposit interest rate x deposit amount x deposit duration)/ (12).
Defence fund and GESY are deducted from the total interest at deposit maturity
What are my options on collecting interest?
Interest collection is determined during the deposit creation by you. You may choose to collect the amount corresponding to the interest to be credited in another account at the end of the deposit term. Alternatively, you can renew the total amount, which corresponds to the interest and initial deposit amount.
When can I withdraw money?
You can withdraw part or the whole amount on the maturity date of the deposit. If you wish to withdraw part or the entire amount prior to the expiration deposit date, charges may apply.
Do I have the option to amend any instructions given during the term of the fixed deposit?
You have the right to amend your instructions during the entire period of the fixed deposit. For example, you may change the autorenewal option, or change the method of interest collection, give instructions to increase the deposit amount at maturity etc.
What is the Deposit Guarantee Protection Scheme and how does it work?

Deposits in Hellenic Bank Public Company Ltd are protected by the Deposit Guarantee and Resolution of Credit and Other Institutions Scheme (DGS).

Limit protection of EUR 100.000 per depositor per credit institution.
