Born on 7 August 1953. Graduated from the Athens College and studied Economics (B.A.) at the American College of Greece (Deree College), Industrial Economics (M.A.) at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom and Business Administration (M.B.A.) at the University of Manchester (Manchester Business School) also in the United Kingdom.
Commenced his career in 1978, working for five years for Exxon in London, Rome and Athens. From 1982 he worked for ten years for Chase Manhattan Bank, in the Treasury Department in New York and then in Milan and Frankfurt as Country Capital Markets Executive and Treasurer. Returned to Greece in 1991 to manage Ionian Bank as General Manager until 1993. He subsequently worked from 1994 till 2010 for Alpha Bank. During this time he managed numerous businesses such as Treasury and Trading, Asset Management, Private Banking, Shipping, International Operations and Real Estate. He was also responsible for the Bad Debt Division and setting up the Arreas Management Function. Marinos was also the Chief Financial Officer, Member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. Joined Chipita in 2011 as Deputy Managing Director (until February 2014) and Member of the Board of Directors (until March 2015).
Elected Member of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Bank on 28 May 2014 and Vice Chairman of the Board on 17 July 2014, an office from which he resigned on 9 September 2014 upon his appointment as Chief Executive Officer of the Hellenic Bank Public Company Limited Group for a period of four months. Re-elected Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Bank on 24 September 2015. Member of the Risk Management Committee of the Bank’s Board of Directors.
He is also a non-Executive Director of EMA S.A.
