How do I register for web banking?

Just come into a branch of Hellenic Bank and ask us. We’ll give you everything you need to get started.

Which banking features can I carry out using web banking?

With Web Banking, you can bring Hellenic Bank to you, wherever you are, and get down to business. Here are just a few of the features:

  • e-statements Cut down the clutter, particularly if you have multiple accounts. If you choose, we’ll email your statements securely to you
  • e-products Apply online for a current account, deposit account, loan or an insurance product
  • Transaction history See detailed information for each transaction you make. Cancel, modify or re-use an existing transaction
  • Get the full picture  See comprehensive details for your accounts, time deposits, loans, insurance policies and cards, all in one place – including any blocked or uncleared funds you need to know about.
  • Make payments quickly Pay bills and move money to existing payees in less than a minute. Transfer money securely between your accounts or to any bank in Cyprus.
  • Your favourite payees Save your regular payees and send them money as many times as you like with no need to rekey their details
  • Spendometer  The Spendometer adds up your available funds and subtracts upcoming bill payments, loan payments or transactions still to come out, to give you a better picture of your cashflow. If you control multiple companies, you can use a different Spendometer for each.  

I forgot or locked my password, what should I do?

If you have forgotten or locked your password, you can reset it online by clicking  on the “Forgot my password “ which is located in the Web banking login screen. In order to that, you will need your user name,  your ID or passport and access to  an email address or a phone number registered with the bank. You can also use your Digipin if you have one.  If you need any help just contact the Customer Contact Center at 8000 9999 or +35722500500 (from abroad) and they’ll be happy to assist you.

Can I setup alerts for my accounts?

Our alerts service sends you email or SMS notifications for account balances, transactions and money movements between your accounts. 

Do I need to use a digiPIN for transfers and payments?

Most transactions (transfers, payments) have to be authorised by using your digiPIN device. However, you won't need to use it if you are transferring money between your own accounts or to someone who's already on your existing payee list.

Is web banking secure?

We make the protection of customers’ personal and sensitive data top priority, and our security is second to none. So, we use industry standard data encryption, protection of your account by a username and password (which we strongly recommend you don’t share with anyone), and automatic time-out when you don’t do anything for 10 minutes. If you forget your credentials or someone else enters them wrongly, the system will lock you out after three attempts (but you can contact us and go through security to get it sorted out).

We also give you a digiPIN device. It’s a little gadget that generates single-use codes for you to use when you want to do money transfers.

If you ever suspect that someone or something has gained access to one of your accounts fraudulently, call NUMBER right away and tell us.

What is the 'spendometer'?

Hellenic Bank’s 'spendometer' does all the maths for you by adding up your available balances (including available overdraft limits) and subtracting upcoming bill payments, pending transactions, and any fixed deposit type of savings. This way you get a more accurate picture of what you can afford.

How is the spendometer calculated?

The Spendometer takes all available balances on the relevant accounts, including authorised borrowing, and then deducts everything that’s due to come out of the account(s) in the chosen period. This includes automatic monthly card payment, loan repayments, and any other regular payments, and pending outgoing payments. The resulting figure is more informative than a simple balance, as it gives an idea of how much money in the account is currently uncommitted.

Can I login from multiple devices?

No. For reasons of security, you can only log in from one place at once.

How do I get help when I am signed in?

Contact the Customer Contact Center on 8000 9999 or +35722500500 (from abroad). You can also send us a personal message from the 'Messages' tab on the top right of your screen. A Customer Contact Center representative will see this and get back to you.

I forgot my user name what should I do?

If you forget your username don’t worry – just contact the Customer Contact Center at 8000 9999 or +35722500500 (from abroad) and they’ll be happy to help.

How do I trust my browser ?

Every 90 days we will ask you to confirm the browser you are logging in from as trusted, through the use of an OTP (One time passcode), either through an SMS or a Digipin device. This helps us know it’s you logging on and not someone else. This new regulation being introduced across all Cyprus Banks is designed to improve your security and reduce fraud and scams. If you haven’t setup your SMS OTP or have a Digipin device your will be required to go through a registration process before you log in.
